The CERC Steering Committee is comprised of the Secretary of Energy from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), the Minister from the China Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), the Administrator from the China National Energy Administration (NEA), and a senior government official from the China Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development (MOHURD). The Steering Committee meets regularly to take stock of progress, addresses challenges, and provides guidance for CERC’s research consortia, partners, and Secretariat.
The CERC Secretariat, comprised of government officials from DOE, MOST, NEA, and MOHURD, administer the program. The Secretariat supports interagency and intergovernmental coordination; provides technical and analytical support for the Steering Committee; provides leadership and guidance for the research consortia; and supports communications, performance tracking and reporting, and partner engagement to facilitate bilateral relationship-building.
CERC research is directed by leadership teams for each consortia.
CERC holds in-person Steering Committee meetings annually to review progress and provide guidance on future work. Recent Steering Committee meetings were held in July 2016, June 2015, and July 2014. The meeting location alternates between Washington, DC and Beijing, China.
